A single-family box

The single-family dwelling fits, as a replacement for a 1950s building, within an inconsistent agglomeration and adjacent to a neoliberty-style villa.
The new volume renounces any formal velleity that would have further disordered the aggregate of which it is a part and created unnecessary competition with the early 20th-century architecture of the neighboring villa.

The black box is thus the renunciation of form, color, and material.
It represents the creation of a space that is only internal, articulated, and in intimate and introverted relationship only with the surrounding greenery.

The entrance to the dwelling is through the bushes, along a curved line that makes its way through the pre-existing vegetation.
The presence of a bamboo grove is an opportunity to create a fair-faced concrete tunnel in intimacy with nature.

The interior of the house makes contrast the defining element. Compressed, dimly lit spaces contrast with bright double heights. The tactile sensations of coldness of reinforced concrete are balanced by the warmth of wood.

The bondage of the now indispensable HI TECH systems, of which it is no longer clear whether we are masters or slaves, is softened by the presence of exposed electrical conduits that suggest the possibility of easily adapting systems to the changing needs of each household.

From a construction point of view, simple, orthogonal reinforced concrete baffles serve as support for a lightweight XLAM roof according to the principle, always desirable in highly seismic areas, of the pyramidal system of loads. Heavy structures at the bottom and light structures at the top lower the center of gravity of the masses, greatly reducing the seismic action.
